Hmmmm…I often find old nests while walking along the creek and woods with the dog and cats. Starting plants in them and then planting in the flowerbed or garden would eliminate the need for starting pots, and the nest would not only be an interesting feature but would also eventually break down, adding organic matter and some bird poop to the planting area.

Cucamelons – Tiny little melon-alikes known in Mexico as Little Mouse Watermelons/Sanditas de Raton. Grown for centuries in Central America this fruit is new to Britain. The taste is described as cucumbery with a hint of lime and are, apparently, much easier to grow than normal cukes. Resistant to most pests, drought tolerant, it just needs a sunny, sheltered position to grow in.
